Riverside Park, designed in the 1890s by the renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, is one of the oldest parks in the city. For many years Riverside served as the recreational link to the Milwaukee River with swimming and boating in the summer and winters of ice-skating, sledding and curling.
No trip to the Urban Ecology Center is complete without exploring the trails in our 15 acre natural area!

Be sure to borrow a field guide from the Center and learn to identify the many plants and animals found in the area.
Ask at the Ecology Center reception desk for a trail map. To preserve the natural growth, please do not collect plants and stay on established trails.
