Team Sponsors Needed
This is the Urban Ecology Center's mission in action. Many of the teens had never canoed or rock climbed before. Many thought they couldn’t do it until they got out on the course and tried it. With some coaching and instruction they were on their way. At the end, all were exhausted but proud of their accomplishments. The kids’ energy is hard to resist; it makes you want to join them on their adventure.
It’s all about the bragging rights.
These teens compete against each other and the clock as they use teamwork, ingenuity and outdoors skills to win for their school. Do they care that this is a safe, positive experience in the city? Heck no! They’re just here to meet the challenge. Sponsor a team and join in their bragging.
At the $500 level - Your company’s name & logo are featured on event publicity and on our website.
At the $1000 level - Your company’s name & logo are featured on signage at the event, participant t-shirts, event publicity and on our website.
But it’s really for the birds.
And the trees. But more importantly it’s for the school kids who come to the Urban Ecology Center to examine butterflies close up. Your sponsorship not only helps on the day of the race, but it also supports year-round programming that connects the community with the urban wilderness.

Everyone, from beginner to expert, is encouraged to join the race. This may be the first time some participants have canoed, climbed or used a compass, but Urban Ecology Center volunteers arethere along the trail and in kayaks on the river to teach and coach. Participants are cheered to the finish line and are given lunch. Top teams are awarded prizes at a special awards ceremony.
